Sedona Smiles - Meet Our Staff

Maryann enjoys motivating others to achieve optimum oral health beginning with their dental concerns. She is laser certified and holds an advanced degree in dental hygiene. Maryann owns her own permanent makeup business and sells neutraceuticals when she is not enjoying her free time with friends and family. 

I received my BS in Dental Hygiene from Ohio State University in 1994. I enjoy the opportunity to get to know my patients concerns. So that together we can have a partnership that is positive and leads to a lifetime of optimum oral health. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf with my husband and hiking the beautiful trails of Arizona with my 4-year-old Shiht-zu named Sammi.  

I have been a dental assistant for the past 13 years. I started out in Kansas City, Mo where I received my certification in OSHA, radiology & chairside assisting. I am a certified dental assistant (CDA). My husband of 18 years, is a police officer for the Sedona Police Department. My son graduates this year from Mingus Union High School. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I most enjoy the quiet time with my husband and the exciting times watching my son play soccer.

I moved to Sedona from El Salvador 9 years ago. I have worked in the dental hygiene department as an assistant for 2 years and I enjoy it very much. I have 3 children ages 14, 7 & 1. I love spending my free time with my children. I also enjoy cooking and improving my language skills.

I have had the privilege of working with Dr Byers for approximately 1 year. I am dedicated to my role here at Sedona Smiles, and enjoy helping our patients completely understand their oral care they receive from Dr Byers, Robin, Molly & Maryann. I was born in Flagstaff, AZ shortly thereafter, my family moved to Cottonwood where I now live with my husband Luke and 2 small boys. I attended Mingus Union High School and since I wish to continue my education I am currently attending Yavapai College part time. My hobbies include spending as much time as possible with my family. I also enjoy sewing, hiking outdoors and reading whenever possible.

I have been part of the Sedona Smiles family since 1998, and have worked with thousands of patients. I really enjoy the interaction with patients, helping them achieve their goals towards better oral-health. Although we all want to keep our teeth, each patient presents with specific needs that demand individualized care. Realizing the specific needs of a patient is one of the many customer-service focused challenges we are continually faced with at Sedona Smiles.
